My Nail Polish Collection

So today I was looking at my nail polish and I have accumulated quite a collection so I thought it might be fun to share all the different colors and brands I have collected over the years. I guess you could say I'm a nail polish addict/hoarder :)

Above is my collection of Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat. From left to right is: 03 Fractured Foil, 01 Snow Blast, and 08 Ink Splatter. I love the effect these overcoats give your nails, you just have to play around with these to find the best colors that help the crackle effect pop the best with the particular color overcoat. I highly recommend these, they are a lot of fun!

Above is my collection of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear Nail Color. From left to right: 240 Twisted Pink, Midnight Sky (sorry no numerical code for this one), Twinkle Twinkle (again no numerical code for this one),  190 Posh Plum, 150 Sun Kissed, 370 Black Out, Deep Blue Sea (no numerical code for this one), Pink-y Ring (no numerical code), 260 Ivy League, and 230 Plum Power. These are my go-to polishes. I absolutely love these because they come in a variety of colors, apply easily, and are cost efficient. I highly recommend this Sally Hansen line of polishes, best bet for your money!

Above is a mini set of the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear Nail Color. I received this set as a Christmas gift this year (2012). I am not sure what the names of the colors are as I have already discarded the box that they came in and it doesn't have the name anywhere on the bottles. I think they are really pretty, I just wish they would have put the names on the bottles so if I wanted to repurchase I would know the exact name and color.

Above is a mini set of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri  Fast Dry Nail Color. I received this also as a Christmas gift. Again, I wish I would have saved the box so that I would know what the colors are that came in this set, but unfortunately I did not. I really like this set as the colors are very bold. I can't wait to use them!

Above is my small collection of Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Colors. From left to right: 13 Resolution and 12 Hue. This line of nail polish is advertised as giving nails  multi-dimensional color and an iridescent shine. I will agree with the claim. In the light, you can see different colors and a lot of shine. I think that when you apply this line of nail polish to your nails and look at your nails in the sunlight, your nails look absolutely gorgeous! I would like to add more colors to my collection from this line.
Above is my small collection of China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners. From left to right: 023 White on White and 634 Frostbite. These polishes are a little bit more expensive than Sally Hansen nail polishes, but I feel they are worth the extra money. I feel the ones I have are pretty opaque and only need 1 or 2 coats. I absolutely love these and would like to expand my collection in this brand.

Above is my tiny collection of Bon Bons Nail Polish. I couldn't find any color names on the bottles of these, but the one on the left is a white and the one on the right is a shimmery silver color. I like how these nail polishes are very inexpensive. I believe you can purchase these at Wal-Mart for less than a dollar. They aren't my favorite polishes to use, but if you are low on cash and are needing a quick color then these can come in handy. They are also really good for travel since the bottle is tiny.

Above is the rest of my collection. These are random nail polish brands and lines so I just decided to group them all together. Here are the names and brands of the nail polishes shown in this photo: Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Polar Purple, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in 670 Teal Steal, Wet n Wild Fastdry Nail Color in Teal or No Teal, Finger Paints Nail Color in Expressionist Red, OPI Nail Lacquer in Charged up Cherry, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color in 130 Beige Blast, Sally Hansen  Complete Salon Manicure in 470 Purple Pulse, and L.A. Colors Nail Treatment Basecoat Topcoat. I also have two blueish-green sparkly color nail polishes, but they are not labeled with a brand or color name.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about my collection and the reviews on certain polishes. I hope to be adding more to the collection in the future! Have a colorful day!

Lush Boxing Day Haul!

Yesterday, I went to Lush for their only sale of the year: Boxing Day! During their Boxing Day sale, all holiday products are buy one get one free of equal or lesser value. This also includes soap and any other products made before October. I ended up buying two bottles of Twilight shower gel (as you know one of my faves), a bottle of Snow Fairy shower gel, a bottle of Ponche shower gel, and some Imperialis facial moisturizer (no, this wasn't part of the sale items). My Lush lady was also nice enough to give me some samples of Big shampoo and Big conditioner. I can't wait to try them out. I will be posting reviews up on the products I purchased in a few days. I am very satisfied with my haul and can't wait to use them! Have a beautiful day!

Very Minty Peppermint Bark

I've been wanting to make some peppermint bark this holiday season and decided what better day than Christmas Eve to make it. This is a recipe I found off of the Food Network that I altered, instead of the white chocolate, I decided to use Andes mint baking chips to give it a more minty flavor. I also made a few other changes.  I hope you will try it out and let me know what  you think!  Merry Christmas!

Ingredients

  • Crushed candy canes, to yield 1 cup
  • 2 bags of Andes Creme De Menthe Baking Chips, 10 oz

Directions:

Place candy canes in a plastic bag and hammer into 1/4-inch chunks or smaller. Use a strainer to sift out the peppermint dust from hammering the candy canes. Set the bowl of peppermnt dust aside as well as the bowl of the candy cane pieces. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Add peppermint dust to the chocolate mixture and stir thoroughly until completely mixed. Pour mixture onto a cookie sheet layered with parchment or waxed paper. Sprinkle crushed candy cane pieces on the poured chocolate and place in the refrigerator for 45 minutes or until firm. Remove from cookie sheet and break into pieces (like peanut brittle.)

CVS Haul Video

CVS Haul

Today I went to CVS to pick up some hair conditioner and some nail polish, but knowing my love for all things beauty I decided to purchase some other items as well. I ended up buying Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and the matching conditioner, Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Snow Blast, Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Airbrush Finish in Classic Ivory, and Maybelline Master Drama by Eyestudio cream pencil in Coal Commander. I am planning on doing reviews on each of the products after I have given the products enough time to prove their results. Be on the look out for reviews in the near future. Have a beautiful day!

Current Products

Hello there!
This week I am going to post the current products that I am using.
Today's topic is Shower Gel!
Twilight Shower Gel by Lush
This can be bought either in Lush stores or online at www.lushusa.com. It retails for $9.95 for the 3.3 fl oz bottle, $18.95 for 8.8 fl oz bottle, and $27.95 for 16.1 fl oz bottle.

Scent notes: Lavender and Tonka.
I love the scent of this shower gel, it is very sweet and relaxing. It leaves a light scent on you long after your shower.

Tip: If you smell this in the store, it smells completely different when you get home and use it in the shower. It had a weird scent when I smelled it at the store, but I heard a lot of great reviews about it so I took a chance and bought it and I'm so glad I did. This is special edition Christmas item so they will probably stop selling it towards the end of January/early February.
